‘My AW18 Look’ with @housenerd
As the cooler months approach, your wardrobe isn’t the only thing that warrants an update. Trends from the catwalk can help transform your home and give it the perfect amount of seasonal sprucing.
This season, we’ve invited the creator and writer of popular local blog, House Nerd, to be a part of our AW18 Perth Style Panel and share her style advice.
Here, Maya shares with us her tips for updating your home, and what she’s looking forward to doing inside her own this autumn.
Instant AW18 Updates
Introducing some seasonal updates into your home can be done for a pretty affordable price, and it can get your place feeling nice and cosy just in time for the cooler months. Bring some warmth into any room with dusty pink and mustard tones. They’re on trend, and you can find plenty of accent pieces available at shops like Adairs, Bed Bath N’ Table or Dusk, to name a few. Think candles, teapots, mugs, cushions or throw rugs for some stylish, seasonal touches.
You can also look through your accessories to store away things that are better suited to the summer months, meaning you’ll have all the more room to add some stylish accent pieces.
Time to Hibernate
Once you’ve set up your space, now it’s time to enjoy it! The best part about the cooler months is being able to rug up and spend some time indoors for a change. Pick up some supplies at Target and create a festive Easter table for the kids. You could even get them to help you set up, as the perfect way to spend a rainy day.
We all know how hard it is to get motivated to leave the house once the temperature drops, so why not make the most of your newly-updated space and invite your friends around for a long overdue catch-up. Try something a little different and host a ‘MasterChef Night,’ which involves picking a recipe you’ve never tried before, cooking it as a group and then devouring it with a bottle of wine, or for those with a hot cross bun in the oven, a round of mocktails.
Cheers to that!
